Entrepreneur Dato’ Seri Vida’s (DSV) house and 4 of her vehicles were seized on November 25 after she didn’t settle a debt of over RM1 million.

According to Berita Harian, the Kuala Lumpur High Court issued the seizure order after she failed to pay RM1,060,285 to a contractor hired to turn a factory in Shah Alam into a studio.

A writ of seizure and sale will be issued

The Ipoh High Court bailiff, along with lawyer Samir Zainal and a subcontractor rep, Mohamad Taufik Kamarul, showed up at DSV’s house in Persiaran Bukit Meru at 9 AM. But they only got in around 10:30 AM after her staff arrived.

Samir said the KL High Court had given a judgment on October 29, 2023, telling her to settle the debt, and if she doesn’t, a writ of seizure and sale will subsequently be issued.

The contractor had to file for bankruptcy

Samir also revealed that DSV’s staff informed him that the cosmetics entrepreneur is currently in China and will contact him soon.

The seizure process was carried out with full cooperation from the cosmetics entrepreneur’s staff.

Meanwhile, Mohamad Taufik said he has been pursuing the debt since 2018 when DSV hired a renovation consultancy firm, which then subcontracted him for the renovation services.

He stated that his payment was not received because she failed to pay the consultancy firm, which led him to file a bankruptcy case against the firm.

DSV has a two-week deadline until December 9 to settle the debt; if she fails to pay, the items will be auctioned.
