According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) Future of Jobs Report 2025, Malaysia is projected to see 620,000 existing jobs will be at risk affected by artificial intelligence (AI), across 10 sectors of the economy, in the next 10 years. I remember during Myaerosatu Student Dialogue at MPM Conference Hall on 25 April, 2026, students continue to be held back by fears of their job opportunities and future security. I told them that the aviation & aerospace companies are still offer robust internship placements designed to transition students directly into industry roles. The high-demand areas like engineering, supply chain & maintenance companies continue to recruit students from relevant institutions with immersion programs to bridge the gaps of their study. This matter was touched and reviewed during MyaeroSatu Executive Committee's video meeting on Google Meet held on 09 June, 2026. It was attended by Secretary Dzul Bahrin Asmawi, Assistant Secretary Haji Muzaffar Mohamad, Advisor Dato' Dr. Amin Khan & President, Professor Dr. Zulkifly Baharom. It was agreed to turn the attendance of Student Dialogue into actual aerospace placements with a structured, multi-channel follow-up strategy. We can set up a Whatsapp group exclusively for dialogue alumni to share updates and organize career talk for a targeted workshop on aerospace CV formatting.
Professor Zul said, “The future for aviation students in the aerospace industry is highly promising, driven by global shift toward sustainability, automation, and digitalization. Airlines and manufacturers are rapidly modernizing, creating an urgent demand for new skill sets. Huge investments are pouring into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), hydrogen propulsion, and electric aircraft. Our engineers who understand green technologies will be heavily recruited.”
He summarized by stating “We did a lot of internal work on what was the right path forward, and it was clear that MyaeroSatu is a great strategic fit with its complementary roles. A combination of its members aviation knowledge, professional expertise & proven working experience is good for the industry.”
