Hill Street Blues star Jon Cypher dies, aged 94

• Actor Jon Cypher, best known for playing Chief Fletcher Daniels in the acclaimed American drama Hill Street Blues, has died aged 94 at his home in Oregon.
• Cypher starred as Prince Christopher opposite Julie Andrews in the landmark 1957 live television production of Cinderella, which attracted nearly 107 million viewers.
• He appeared in 71 episodes of Hill Street Blues between 1981 and 1987, playing a key role in the groundbreaking Emmy Award-winning police drama.
• His extensive career spanned screen and stage, including starring as Brigadier General Marcus Craig in Major Dad and Man-at-Arms in the 1987 film Masters of the Universe.
• Cypher also performed in several Broadway productions, made guest appearances in numerous hit television shows, and published a book of limericks in 2019.
