The Luxeed RX now has a base model with a smaller battery and price in China.

Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) has officially expanded the lineup for its upcoming electric coupe SUV, the Luxeed RX, introducing a new entry-level 81 kWh battery variant alongside the opening of public reservations.

The addition lowers the barrier of entry for the flagship fastback SUV by RMB 30,000 compared to its original RMB 299,800 pre-sale baseline. The newly introduced 81 kWh version starts at RMB 269,800 for the model equipped with Huawei’s co-optical-path in-cabin LiDAR system, stepping up to RMB 329,800 for the variant configured with full Level 3-grade autonomous driving architecture.

The announcement builds on the technical reveal made by Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director, Chairman of the Product Investment Review Committee, and Chairman of the Terminal BG, confirming that the Luxeed RX was engineered from the outset to support native Level 3 autonomous driving redundancy.

Huawei Tuling Platform and 800V High-Voltage Underpinnings

Underneath its sweeping silhouette, the Luxeed RX is built on Huawei’s advanced Tuling 800V high-voltage architecture, designed to maximize thermal efficiency and enable rapid DC top-ups.

The coupe SUV boasts substantial exterior proportions, stretching 5,020 mm in length, 2,007 mm in width, and 1,585 mm in height, riding on a generous 3,000 mm wheelbase. The long footprint allows the vehicle to carry a low, aerodynamic coupe roofline without compromising interior cabin space or second-row legroom.

Powertrain choices cater to both long-distance cruisers and performance seekers through two primary configurations:

  • Single-Motor RWD: Generates 277 kW (roughly 377 PS) sent directly to the rear axle, prioritizing energy conservation and effortless daily acceleration.
  • Dual-Motor AWD: Combines front and rear drive units to output a massive 437 kW (594 PS), allowing the top-spec coupe SUV to complete the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration sprint in just 3.6 seconds.

81 kWh LFP and 100 kWh Ternary Battery Choices

The newly introduced 81 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack joins the existing 100 kWh ternary lithium battery pack to give buyers flexible price-to-range choices.

When fitted with the flagship 100 kWh pack, the aerodynamic SUV delivers an official CLTC driving range of up to 852 km (529 miles) on a single charge. The vehicle also serves as the global debut vehicle for Huawei’s next-generation Zhiqing high-performance electric drive system, incorporating advanced motor cooling and power-inverter algorithms to sustain high-speed output with lower parasitic electrical losses.

Fused Perception: 38 Sensors and Next-Gen LiDAR Architecture

Reflecting Huawei’s heavy investment in intelligent chassis and pilot technologies, the Luxeed RX comes equipped with an extensive sensory array comprising 38 fused perception sensors. The hardware suite is headlined by an ultra-high-resolution 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR mounted on the roofline, supplemented by three high-precision solid-state LiDAR units embedded within the vehicle’s perimeter.

Additional hardware highlights include high-definition binocular electronic rearview mirrors, intelligent wrap-around ergonomic seating, and comprehensive compute redundancy designed to support seamless over-the-air transitions as local regulatory bodies permit hands-off, eyes-off Level 3 autonomous driving operations.
