After Malang panchayat, the newly constituted Shooling panchayat in Lahaul and Spiti district has also created a remarkable example of unity and democratic consensus by electing all its office-bearers unanimously and unopposed. The villagers collectively decided to form the entire panchayat through mutual agreement, reflecting strong social harmony and cooperation in the region.

According to local residents, the unanimous selection of representatives was made with the aim of ensuring smooth development and maintaining unity within the panchayat. The move has been widely appreciated as a positive example of participatory grassroots democracy.

In the newly formed panchayat, Ashok Kumar has been elected as the Pradhan, while Vivek has been chosen as the Up-Pradhan. The elected ward members are: Ward No. 1: Radha Devi, Ward No. 2: Shakuntla, Ward No. 3: Veena Devi, Ward No. 4: Sumanlata and Ward No. 5: Ram Chand.

Villagers expressed happiness over the peaceful and unanimous formation of the Panchayat and said that collective leadership would help accelerate development works in the area.

Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana congratulated the residents of Shooling along with the entire panchayat members for setting an inspiring example of unity and consensus. She assured the newly elected representatives of every possible support from her side for the overall development of Shooling panchayat.

The MLA also expressed confidence that Shooling would emerge as a model panchayat in the coming years through coordinated efforts, public participation and development-oriented governance.
