The accused snatched a woman's gold mangalsutra at a shop and attempted to flee.

The Himachal Pradesh Police on Friday arrested four snatchers hailing from Moga district. The accused were apprehended minutes after they targeted a woman on Mandi-Pathankot National Highway and snatched her gold mangalsutra (wedding necklace).

The accused have been identified as Har Jeewan Singh, Raghav Puri and Vijay Singh of Moga town and Saajan Singh of Charrik village in Moga district. According to the police, the suspects entered a local commercial establishment under the guise of customers looking to buy vegetables. While inside the shop, they created a distraction, targeted a woman, and violently yanked the gold mangalsutra from her neck before attempting to flee.

Following the incident, an alarm was raised, prompting locals and the police to coordinate quickly. The police managed to intercept the suspects, leading to the successful arrest of all four individuals. The Himachal Pradesh Police have recovered the stolen jewellery from the accused and registered a case against them under the relevant sections of the law.
