
Himachal Pradesh is set to witness another spell of heavy rainfall from May 11 onwards as the State Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for four districts for May 11.
As per the department, a yellow alert has been issued for Kullu, Kangra, Mandi and Chamba districts, resulting in thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds in isolated places of these districts.
The department has also issued orange and yellow weather warnings for the state for May 12 and 13.
The department has forecasted continuous precipitation across the state till May 16, with intense showers from May 12 to 14. During this period, the state will experience much colder days as compared to average as minimum temperatures will fall by 2°C to 3°C in the next few days. Similarly, maximum temperatures are also very likely to fall by 2°C to 5°C in the next few days.
Meanwhile, weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours, with most places in the state witnessing a cloudy day.
Minimum temperatures in the state during the last 24 hours were 3°C to 7°C above normal, ranging between 5°C to 23°C. Similarly, maximum temperatures were normal in the state and ranged between 16°C to 37.2°C.
Maximum temperature in Shimla was 21.5°C, Dharamshala 30°C, Manali 24.8°C, Kangra 31.7°C, Mandi 30.9°C, Solan 28°C, Sundernagar 31.3°C, Nahan 28°C, Kufri 15.7°C, Bhuntar 31.5°C, Chamba 29.9°C and Kalpa 24.6°C.
With 37.2°C minimum temperatures, Una was the hottest place in the state while Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded 5.4°C minimum temperature.
