
Himachal Pradesh is set to witness heat wave conditions on May 26 and 27 as the State Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow weather warning for heat waves in several districts of the state for the next few days.
As per the centre, yellow warning for heat wave has been issued for Kangra, Solan, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts for May 26, resulting in scorching heat in isolated places of these districts. Similarly, a yellow alert for heat waves has also been issued for May 27 as well.
During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to surge by 2°C to 5°C in most parts of the state, while maximum temperatures are expected to surge by 3°C to 7°C, resulting in much warmer days than normal.
However, the centre has also predicted light precipitation in middle and high hills of the state for May 26 and in most parts of Himachal from May 28 to 30.
Meanwhile, very light precipitation was witnessed in several parts of the state during the last 24 hours, while the weather was mostly dry in the state.
Minimum temperatures across the state dropped by 2°C to 3°C, ranging between 4°C to 25°C. However, maximum temperatures across the state were 2°C to 3°C above normal and ranged between 16°C to 41°C.
Maximum temperature in Shimla was 27.6°C, Dharamshala 35.1°C, Manali 28.2°C, Kangra 36.4°C, Solan 34°C, Mandi 36°C, Sundernagar 36.4°C, Kufri 21.8°C, Kalpa 22.6°C, Keylong 18.5°C, Nahan 36.9°C and Bhuntar 33°C.
With 41°C maximum temperatures, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded 3.8°C minimum temperature.
