
Kota Kinabalu: The “Pillars of Sabah” is a community art project jointly initiated in 2018 by renowned, multiple award-winning Sabah-born artist Red Hong Yi and educator, ecologist and filmmaker, Jared Abdul Rahman, in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2018. The artwork featured 30 Sabahan artist honouring 30 people from Sabah who have inspired them.
In 2019, the second edition, Pillars of Sabah 2.0, was launched in conjunction with Earth Hour 2019 featuring 30 different endangered wildlife aimed at promoting awareness on climate change and the need to protect Sabah’s endangered wildlife.
Meanwhile, the land on which the “Pillars of Sabah” is located belongs to the State Government and is managed by the State Museum Department.
