History made as 96-year-old lands Tony nod in packed shortlist

  • The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! each received a leading 12 Tony Award nominations, with June Squibb, aged 96, becoming the oldest Tony-nominated actor in history, and Danny Burstein setting a new record as the most-nominated male actor.
  • Other highly recognised productions include a revival of Ragtime with 11 nominations, and Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, starring Nathan Lane, which secured nine nods.
  • The Best New Musical category features The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titanique, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), while Best New Play nominees include Giant, Liberation, The Balusters, and Little Bear Ridge Road.
  • Notable acting nominations include Daniel Radcliffe for Every Brilliant Thing and Rose Byrne for Fallen Angels, making her the 22nd actor to receive Oscar and Tony nominations in the same year.
  • The Tony Awards ceremony is scheduled for 7th June at Radio City Music Hall, hosted by Pink, and will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
