Kota Kinabalu: Sabah has seen an alarming increase in HIV/Aids particularly among youths, said an official.
This increase is especially concerning because it demonstrates the young population's vulnerability to the virus.
According to State Health Director Datuk Dr Asits Sanna, one key factor contributing to this increase is cases among the homosexual community.
In 2022, the number of HIV notifications in Sabah was 395 (9.3 per cent), an increase of 35.9 per cent from 253 (6.3 per cent) in 2021.
