Tuaran: Sports activities can be leveraged not only to develop and increase cooperation and togetherness among people, but also as a practise and a healthy lifestyle.

Accordingly, the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag, wants the Open Netball Tournament to continue on a regular basis in order to develop a healthy, energetic, and productive society with noble ideals to meet future challenges.

She said this when officiating the Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Juliah Salag Open Netball Tournament Closing Ceremony at Dewan Sri Sulaman, here, on Sunday.

Furthermore, sporting activities can help to maintain physical health and mental strength by teaching people how to control their emotions, focus, and establish team spirit.

“I hope that the establishment of this tournament will not only help to promote netball, but will also serve as a platform for finding and getting to know new athletes in this State,” she said.

Juliah said that she personally supports the establishment of sports-oriented programmes and activities such as netball because it can foster and strengthen a sense of collaboration and unity among people of all races and religions in the country, particularly in Sabah.
