KUALA LUMPUR – The official WhatsApp account belonging to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has been compromised by unknown individuals.

According to a statement issued by his office this evening, the incident has been formally reported to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

In response, the public has been warned not to trust any messages or calls from individuals claiming to be the minister, particularly those involving financial transactions or requests for meetings.

"We strongly advise members of the public not to be misled by fraudulent attempts to impersonate Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail," the statement read.

The ministry also condemned the breach, describing it as a deeply regrettable act by irresponsible parties.

"We also urge the public to remain vigilant against scam syndicates operating through various social media platforms and to report any such activity to the authorities," it added. - May 26, 2025
