THE Dewan Rakyat sitting today is set to debate a wide range of issues, including homelessness in Kuala Lumpur, the proposed separation of powers between the Attorney General and the Public Prosecutor, and the government’s position on establishing drag racing circuits across Malaysia.
Fong Kui Lun (PH–Bukit Bintang) will ask the Prime Minister to state the current number of homeless individuals in the capital and whether existing transit centres are operating at full capacity. He will also question if the government plans to expand such facilities and introduce training or skills development programmes to help the homeless become self-reliant.
Lim Lip Eng (PH–Kepong) will seek clarification on the government’s reference models for separating the functions of the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor. He will also ask whether future appointments of the Attorney General will be reviewed by the Parliamentary Special Select Committee (JKPK).
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (BN–Bera) will raise a question to the Youth and Sports Minister regarding the ministry’s stance on the previous administration’s proposal to establish at least one drag racing circuit in each state, following public interest generated by the recent Himpunan RXZ Members gathering.
After the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will continue with ministerial winding-up speeches on the Supply Bill at the policy stage. The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament will run for 35 days until 4 December. - October 29, 2025
