
TAWAU: Police seized two home-made rifles and arrested a 60-year-old man, here, on Thursday.
A team from the Sabah Criminal Investigation Department (CID) special investigation (D9) unit searched the man’s home at Kampung Kuala Merotai following a tip-off at 12.05pm.
Sabah CID Chief SAP Azmi Abd Rahim said they also seized three bullets in the operation.
“The suspect also claimed to have acquired the firearms from a man from Lawas (district in Sarawak) but could not remember the name and face,” he said.

“This included tracking down the individual who sold the firearms to the suspect,” said Azmi.
