MANILA, Philippines — Former presidential spokesman and lawyer Harry Roque expressed feelings of homesickness in a Facebook post on Friday, saying he hopes to return to Manila.
In his post, Roque shared a photo of rainy weather and wrote, "Homesick. Raining like I'm back home in Manila. Sana nga (I hope so)."
The post quickly drew attention online as Roque was reported to be somewhere in Europe while facing allegations related to qualified human trafficking in connection with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hubs. Authorities have previously sought his arrest in relation to the case, and he has been described by Philippine officials as a fugitive from justice.
Roque's last reported public appearance in the Philippines was in September 2024. Since then, his whereabouts have remained outside the country.
As of posting time, Roque has not provided additional details on when or whether he plans to return to the Philippines.
