Heartiest Congratulations to Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman on her official inauguration for her third term as the Mayor of Isabela City. She has served as the Chief Executive of the City Government of Isabela de Basilan since July 2019. She previously served as the Congresslady in the Philippines House of Representatives and Executive Director of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
My wife, Hajah Zarina and I are fortunate to attend the 9th Inauguration of the Mayor and Elected Local Government Officals of the City of Isabela on 30th June, 2025 at Isabela City Civic and Cultural Centre. It is a manifestation of commitments to a progressive economy by reinvigorating the City's HAPISABIDA Microfinance Program, which released zero-interest livelihood short-term cash loans from PhP5,000 - PhP30,000 each to qualified barangay (village) micro-business enterprises for more than 500 local micro-entrepreneurs. I remember on 19th August, 2021, the City Launched HAPISABIDA or the Hapisabela Business Investment Development Academy, which enroll all recipients of the city's lovelihood assistance programs and social enterprises in a 6-month business mentoring and coaching program which aims to assist new business through mentoring sessions on Entrepreneurship basic, access to technology, acess to markets, access to finance and continuous monitoring and evaluation of business performance for free veritable crash course.
Mayor Sitti said, “This is augmented by the HAPISABIDAwards, wherein Bussing entrepreneurs or enterprising groups who wish to open a new business may submit their business proposals which shall undergo an intensive vetting, screening and selection process, at the end of the program, the top ten best business shall be awarded a grant of PhP30,000 to be used as capital for their business.”
In her 3rd Term Inaugural Address, Mayor Sitti reaffirmed, “Today, I accept with deep humility and renewed resolve, the responsibility that you have once again entrusted to me. This is more than the start of a new term. It is a continuation of the joirney that we began together: one founded on trust, guided by a shared vision, and defined by a service that is truly felt. So, let's all get together to work.”
