HONDA MALAYSIA has shared the experiences of three local e:HEV owners, highlighting how its hybrid models are being used in everyday Malaysian driving, from lowering monthly fuel expenses to covering longer distances between refuelling stops.

City e:HEV owner Shangkari Kumaran said she previously spent more than RM 200 per month on fuel with her previous Honda City. With her current City e:HEV, that has dropped to around RM150 or slightly more per month.
She also highlighted the City e:HEV’s quietness, comfort and stability on longer journeys. After two years of ownership, Shangkari said she had not encountered any major issues with the car and remained satisfied with its reliability and fuel efficiency.
Honda Connect has also become part of her ownership experience. Having previously relied on a separate GPS tracking device, Shangkari said the ability to check the car’s location through Honda Connect proved useful when a false alert from the separate tracker caused concern while the car was parked in a crowded area.

Civic e:HEV RS owner Mohamad Sabri Hassan, meanwhile, said he typically manages around 720km to 800km on a full tank based on his own driving experience, which he says is more than twice the distance achieved by his previous vehicle.
One drive to Kelantan stood out in particular, as he arrived at his destination with fuel still remaining. Sabri also highlighted the Civic e:HEV RS’s smooth and responsive acceleration, saying its pickup feels stronger than a conventional CVT-equipped car, particularly around town.
He also pointed to the digital instrument display and Honda Sensing driver assistance systems as features he appreciates on longer highway journeys, alongside the smooth acceleration delivered by the e:HEV powertrain.
For Lionel Soon Pow Yik, the CR-V e:HEV RS is more about balancing efficiency with the space and performance needed for family use.

He highlighted its cabin space, lower refuelling frequency and available torque when overtaking as some of the reasons the hybrid SUV works for his family.
Lionel even turned fuel efficiency into a friendly competition with his wife, with the pair challenging each other to see who could cover the greatest distance in the CR-V e:HEV RS.
He also highlighted the digital meter and Bose sound system as features that make time spent in the car more enjoyable.
Honda Malaysia managing director and CEO Narushi Yazaki said the company sees electrification as being about more than efficiency, with driving enjoyment remaining an important part of Honda’s approach to e:HEV models.
Honda Malaysia says the different experiences of its customers show how e:HEV technology can cater to daily commuting, long-distance driving and family use without requiring drivers to significantly change the way they use their cars.
Earlier this year, Honda Malaysia also introduced a 10-year hybrid battery warranty with unlimited mileage, subject to its warranty terms and conditions, as part of its effort to provide greater long-term ownership confidence for e:HEV customers.
