HONOR 600 Pro Unboxing & First Impressions

HONOR has made quite the noise for its upcoming HONOR 600 Pro smartphone, in part because the company has officially uprated the lineup to “flagship” category, and it’s got the specs to match (but we can’t talk about it just yet). Still, we have the units on our hands, so we can at least talk about our first impressions.

HONOR 600 Pro: Unboxing

Inside the box of each HONOR 600 Pro you’ll find a SIM ejector pin, USB-C cable, charging adapter, silicon case, and the smartphone itself. Presentation-wise, nothing too special despite the N series being reclassified as “flagship” – but you’ll be getting everything you need as far as accessories are concerned.

First Impressions

I wouldn’t be surprised if the first thing you thought of when seeing this design is the iPhone 17 Pro – and clearly the company is pretty unapologetic about it when one of the color options includes a shade of orange not too dissimilar to Cosmic Orange color on the Apple smartphone. We’ve attached a photo of the iPhone above if you want to play a quick game of spot-the-similarities.

Designs aside, HONOR noted that the 600 Pro’s chassis involves a 0.5mm back panel manufactured using “cold-carving” process that comes with a claimed 200% increase in bending strength. The display bezel is also claimed to be the thinnest achieved in the industry, at 0.98mm.

Like the HONOR Magic8 Pro (and the aforementioned iPhone), it’s also got a third button on the right that conspicuously looks like iPhone’s “Camera Control” button, in this case designated as “AI Button” that mostly behaves like Apple’s Action Button, down to its settings UI. Honestly, the word unapologetic is starting to undersell how far the Chinese smartphone maker has flattered Cupertino at this point.

Also worth mentioning is that chipset upgrade is on the menu this time, as the company has confirmed that “Elite” will be what’s powering the new smartphone. That essentially narrows down to Snapdragon 8 Elite or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, both of which are plenty powerful by modern-day standards.

Camera-wise, the HONOR 600 Pro is among the latest to also feature a 200MP main sensor, and we’ve seen similar applications in other Chinese brands as of late. The Chinese smartphone maker also claimed that its camera achieves CIPA 6.5 stabilization capability – highest in the industry, apparently – and it carries the same Night Engine tech from the brand’s actual flagship, the HONOR Magic8 Pro. The telephoto camera is also capable of 120x zoom, most of it digitally cropped, with generative AI-based upscaling involved as you zoom past certain levels.

Aside from the orange color option, the HONOR 600 Pro is also available in Golden White and Black colors. More information on the new smartphone will be revealed in due time as the smartphone maker is set to launch the new model very soon, so watch this space and be sure to check out our review right here on Pokde.NET when it goes live.
