HONOR 600 Series Debuts Globally In Malaysia, Pre-Orders Now Open

HONOR has announced the global debut of its HONOR 600 Series in Malaysia, marking the country as the first market to introduce the new smartphone lineup. The series includes the HONOR 600 Pro and HONOR 600, both positioned within the accessible flagship segment (while HONOR 600 Lite exists, the company sees it as a separate model in its separate category).

So, elephant in the room: the looks. HONOR didn’t say it out loud this time – unlike the 600 Lite – but the new lineup’s design is almost certainly an intentional attempt at copying iPhone 17 Pro’s looks, down to the color options they come with (with the ‘deep blue’ color from the 17 Pro being the sole exception). It’s even got a side button located on a similar spot, although in this case it functions as an “AI Button” that, among other things, lets you quickly access its AI slop generator.

Cupertino flattery aside, the HONOR 600 Series features a camera system built around a 200MP sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size (we suspect it’s probably of a Samsung ISOCELL kind), while the Pro model exclusively includes a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and CIPA 6.5-rated image stabilization capabilities (it also unlocks full 120x digital zoom over the non-Pro’s 30x-only digital zoom, presumably due to AI upscaling’s involvement in the Pro model).

Processing hardware also differs quite a bit between the two models: the HONOR 600 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the predecessor of the current-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5; as for HONOR 600, it sticks to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset that is darn near ubiquitous among recent smartphone releases, and is nowhere close to the same kind of performance you’d get in a year-old flagship chip.

Still, both get equal treatments on some components, including a 6.57-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel rated for up to 8,000 nits of HDR peak brightness (APL unknown), A 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 80W wired charging, and 27W reverse wired charging (though the Pro model also includes 50W wireless charging), as well as IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for ingress protection, plus SGS 5-star drop test certifications.
