HONOR has claimed a first among smartphone makers in “direct, seamless cross-OS connectivity between its latest flagship devices with iPhone, iPad, and Mac hardware” – in other words, no longer you have to worry about AirDrop or nothing when transferring files in and out of Cupertino’s walled garden, and in some cases the devices can be used as extended displays, too.
HONOR Share Now Taps Into Apple Devices

Now, we’ll argue that the language used here is pretty vague, given that Google has, at the very least, solved the AirDrop problem not too long ago (and you have EU’s legislation to thank for that). HONOR says it sticks to its own updated version of the HONOR Share protocol for the same purpose (marketed as HONOR AI Connect), which will be available in the HONOR Magic V6 smartphone, MagicPad 4 tablet and the 2026 MagicBook Pro 14 laptop.
In the case of HONOR Magic V6, it supports a feature called OneTap Transfer that allows files stored on the smartphone to be sent directly to a Mac. This tech has already existed within the HONOR ecosystem where you can lightly tap the device into each other, in which case the NFC does its thing and initiates the transfer process. Besides that, the foldable can also mirror its interface onto a Mac display.
Similar logic applies to the MagicPad 4 and the MagicBook Pro 14: the tablet can be used as a wireless secondary display for a Mac system, while the laptop can tap into HONOR Share to easily transfer files to and from iPhones and iPads. No more working around sending via WhatsApp chats even if your friends are the proud owners of blue chat bubbles.
HONOR stated that the Magic V6, MagicPad 4 and MagicBook Pro 14 will be introduced in Malaysia “soon”, so we’ll know by then exactly how the interoperability is going to look like between two sides of the walled garden when the updated HONOR Share protocol kicks in.
Pokdepinion: It can only be a good thing. Say no to walled gardens!
