Well, that was fast.
The HONOR X9e Pro only recently opened for pre orders in Malaysia, and according to HONOR, its allocated pre order units have already been snapped up in just 7 days.
The quick sellout also adds another milestone for a series that has already held the No.1 spot in Malaysia’s mid range smartphone market for four consecutive generations and three straight years.
But what exactly made people go for it?
There isn’t just one answer. The X9e Pro arrived with nine major upgrades covering pretty much everything from how long your phone lasts to what happens when you accidentally drop it.
Here’s what buyers are getting.
1. That massive 11,000mAh battery

Let’s start with one of the biggest numbers on the spec sheet.
The HONOR X9e Pro packs an 11,000mAh battery, which HONOR claims is the largest battery capacity in the industry.
According to HONOR’s official test results, that can deliver up to 66.8 hours of video playback or 164.5 hours of music playback.
Basically, getting through a long weekend on one charge shouldn’t be much of a problem.
And when you finally do need some juice, there’s 80W wired charging. It also supports 27W reverse charging, meaning that giant battery can come to the rescue when your friend’s phone is dying too.
Congrats, you’re the power bank now.
2. It can take quite a beating

If you’re someone who somehow drops their phone every other day, this one might catch your attention.
The X9e Pro uses a chassis design inspired by the crash beam principle found in race cars, alongside a full surface adhesive bonding solution designed to help it withstand impact.
HONOR says the phone has been tested across more than 10 real world ground surfaces and all eight points of the device, earning the SGS Premium Performance Certification of Drop & Crush Resistance. According to the brief, it is the first smartphone to receive this certification.
And if normal drop tests weren’t dramatic enough, journalists at an earlier media session even fired rubber pellets from an air gun directly at the screen.
According to HONOR, it continued working normally after repeated hits.
Still, maybe don’t try that yourself.
3. Water isn’t much of a problem either

Dropped your phone into water?
The X9e Pro comes with IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications, with its water resistance reaching depths of up to 10 metres.
HONOR says its waterproofing design takes inspiration from submarines, combining an outer pressure resistant shell, multiple waterproofing layers, compartmentalised sealing and drainage channels.
So whether it’s an accidental splash or an unexpected encounter with water, there’s quite a bit of protection built in.
4. You’re covered for two years too

Of course, being tough doesn’t mean accidents will never happen.
That’s why HONOR has also upgraded its after sales protection.
HONOR Rakyat Care+ for the X9e Pro includes 730 Day Front & Back Crack Protection and 730 Day Liquid Damage Protection, alongside a one year Extended Warranty at no additional cost.
The crack protection covers both the display and rear camera glass, while the liquid damage protection provides repair coverage within the two year period.
In other words, there’s some extra peace of mind if your phone has a very unfortunate day.
5. Malaysia’s sun has some competition

Anyone who has tried checking their phone under the afternoon sun knows the struggle.
The X9e Pro can reach a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, which HONOR says is a 67% increase over the previous generation.
The idea is simple: keeping whatever you’re looking at on screen clearer even when you’re outside under Malaysia’s very enthusiastic sunshine.
6. There’s a 108MP camera too

The camera hasn’t been left out of the upgrades either.
The X9e Pro comes with a 108MP main camera, a 1/1.67 inch sensor, 0.64μm pixel size and f/1.75 aperture.
Its stabilisation also reaches CIPA 6.0 level, which is designed to help when taking photos in low light conditions.
There’s even Underwater Colour Tuning, which works together with the phone’s 10 metre water resistance to help correct the colour cast commonly seen in underwater photos.
So yes, the water resistance can actually come in handy for the camera too.
7. AI is doing some of the editing for you
And because apparently every phone needs some AI magic nowadays, there’s plenty of that here too.
The X9e Pro comes with AI Enhanced Night, AI Enhanced Telephoto and AI Enhanced Portrait, which automatically optimise images depending on what you’re shooting.
Moving Photo also brings Motion Trail, Motion Clone and Slow Motion effects.
Then there’s AI Image to Video 2.0, which lets you pair a still photo with a short prompt and turn it into a video.
Less time editing, more time posting, basically.
8. It’s designed to stay smooth for years
Under the hood, the X9e Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset alongside HONOR’s Hummingbird Architecture 2.0.
HONOR says the combination is designed to keep the phone responsive for up to 72 months, using technologies including AI Trajectory Compensation, Page Level Scheduling and a Kernel Lightweight Engine.
The company also claims app launch speeds can be up to twice as fast as comparable devices.
Six years is a pretty long time, so this is one claim we’d definitely be interested to see play out over the long run.
9. And it comes from a series Malaysians already know

Finally, the X9e Pro isn’t exactly starting from zero.
The HONOR X9 series has held the No.1 spot in Malaysia’s mid range smartphone market for four consecutive generations and three straight years, a record that the brief states has been officially certified by Asia Record and ASEAN Record.
Now, the X9e Pro’s preorder sellout appears to be continuing that momentum.
From its 11,000mAh battery and tougher build to its water resistance, brighter display, upgraded cameras and AI features, there’s certainly a lot packed into this generation.
And judging by those preorder numbers, plenty of Malaysians were interested enough to get in early.
