Kota Kinabalu: Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) and the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) President Tan Sri T.C Goh, called on the Federal Government to honour and implement the commitments regarding the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63), especially the 40 per cent net tax revenue issue for Sabah, as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, without delay.
Speaking at the “FCAS Night” held at the Hakka Hall on Saturday, Goh said both the Sabah public and the Chinese community, including FCAS, are highly concerned about the 40 per cent net tax revenue issue.
“Overall, our position is firm, which is that the Federal Government needs to fulfil its commitments,” Goh said.
During the event, attended by various dignitaries, including Sabah Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe and the Deputy Consul General of China in Kota Kinabalu, Ouyang Huifeng, Goh noted Sabah Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, emphasised two key points during an audience.

The second concerned issues related to East Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, in the MA63.
The Governor hoped the Federal Government would gradually and comprehensively implement the relevant constitutional amendments to grant Sabah and Sarawak their autonomy and ensure equal status with Peninsular Malaysia.
Goh said the Governor’s advice, demonstrating deep love for the country and the people, moved everyone greatly.
He said FCAS and the Chinese community in Sabah fully agree and wholeheartedly support the Governor’s advice, as well as the related positions and statements of the State Government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Goh reiterated that the FCAS and the Chinese community of Sabah would continue to be the backup force for the State Government in this regard.
