LABUAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was praised for taking necessary action to recover over RM1 million in assets from a female witness in the ongoing Sabah Water Department scandal involving its former director and his wife.
“In fact, those who received assets or monies that rightfully belong to tax payers should return them to the Government without even being asked. Otherwise, it makes them accomplices to the crime committed,” said Sabah-based activist Datuk Patrick Sindu.
“Surrendering the ‘gifts’ from ill-gotten gains would also earn them admiration and respect of the masses,” he said.
