
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah branch of the Malaysia China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) has been urged to fully cooperate with the State government especially in bringing in more investors from China.
“I call upon not only the established senior members of the chamber but also all newly established wings such as the Women Entrepreneurs Commitee, the Youth Entrepreneurs Commitee and Next Generation Committee to step up collaboration with the State government particularly in bringing in more Chinese investors to Sabah,” said Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.
He hopes MCCC Sabah can enhance communication and work closely with State Ministry of Industrial Development in efforts to attract investors from China apart from acting as a catalyst for the betterment of all Sabahans.
“Sabah is endowed with rich natural resources with so much potential for development which generates vast opportunities for entrepreneurs as well as investors,” said Dr Joachim, highlighting the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has given his full support for investors looking to make inroads or expand their presence in Sabah.

Dr. Joachim who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, noted Sabah has all the potential to be a major transit hub that connects many countries, especially the South East Asia region, China, Japan and South Korea, as well as Australia and beyond.
With stronger cooperation, he said the State Government together with MCCC through planned partnership can realise their shared objectives ato further enhance Sabah’s development and transformation into a bustling and vibrant trade hub in the region.
In his address, Dr Joachim congratulated all the award winners who have set a high benchmark with their accomplishments for subsquent recipient of the awards.
Among those who attended the event were Consul-General of China in Kota Kinabalu, Huang Shifang, Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, Phoong Jin Zhe, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, MCCC National President, Loo Kok Seong, MCCC Sabah branch President Micheal Chin and Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad, Datuk Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen among others.
