POLICE in Kuala Muda have opened a triple homicide investigation following the gruesome discovery of a husband, wife, and son found mutilated in a residence in Kampung Belau.

Officers, supported by local villagers, entered the two-story house late Wednesday to find a scene described as catastrophic.

The victims have been identified as 65-year-old Zikri Abdul Rahman, his 53-year-old wife Suraya Man, and 29-year-old son, Muhammad Shakir Zufayri Abdul Aziz.

While initial reports suggested a sudden death inquiry, the sheer brutality of the scene has shifted the focus to a cold-blooded killing.

Kuala Muda District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan confirmed the shocking state the victims were found.

He stated that the bodies of the husband and wife aged 65 and 53 were found incomplete and wrapped in carpets and cloth in the kitchen.

Forensic evidence suggests a prolonged struggle or a targeted execution.

Hanyan further clarified the distribution of the bodies within the home, noting the distinct manner in which the younger victim was killed.

He said the body of the 29-year-old was found in a room on the upper floor of the two-story house with slash wounds to the neck.

The remains have been transferred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital forensic department for post-mortem examinations.

While the village of Kampung Belau remains cordoned off, authorities are attempting to piece together a timeline of events leading up to the midnight discovery.

A press briefing is expected to be held at the Merbok police station at noon to provide updates on potential suspects or motives behind the killings.

Officials have urged the public to refrain from speculation as forensic teams continue to sweep the property for evidence. - March 26, 2026
