TAWAU: Police have arrested a cleaner to facilitate investigations into an alleged criminal intimidation and assault case involving her colleague at Tawau General Hospital on Friday.
District police chief ACP Rosdi Mat Jusoh said the 30-year-old local woman was detained at the district police headquarters about 15 hours after the 6.50am incident.
He said the arrest followed a report lodged by a 26-year-old female colleague who was allegedly approached in the hospital rest room, verbally confronted, and accused of gossiping.
The suspect then allegedly pushed and kicked the complainant with her right foot, causing her to stagger backwards and suffer pain in the left waist area.
Rosdi said the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 of the same law for voluntarily causing hurt, while the actual motive remains under investigation.
