MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has suspended Cavite 4th District Rep. Francisco Barzaga for another 60 days.

The House, during plenary session on Wednesday, adopted the recommendation of the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, with 238 affirmative votes, 10 against and nine abstentions.

"After a thorough deliberation, the committee finds that respondent Barzaga committed repeated, escalating misconduct during the period of his suspension from office from December 1, 2025 to January 30, 2026 which reflected negatively upon the dignity, integrity, and reputation of the House of Representatives as an institution and of the members of the House,” 4Ps Rep. JC Abalos, the chairman of the committee, said before the recommendation was put to a vote.

The suspension without payment of salary and allowance is effective immediately.
