
SEMPORNA: A double-storey house and two vehicles were destroyed in a fire at Kg Tampi-Tampi Darat, here at 9am on Saturday.
Fire and Rescue Station Chief Mazlan Sarman said they received an emergency call at 9.04am via MERS 999.
He said seven firefighters together with a fire engine were deployed to the scene located 12 km from the station.
“After arriving at the scene, the semi-permanent double-storey was 100 per cent destroyed and the vehicles, namely Isuzu Pick-Up and Mitsubishi Lancer.
“The team managed to control the fire from spreading at 9.33am and the operation ended at 11.25am to ensure there was no more danger at other location,” he said.
No casualties or injuries were reported and the cause of fire as well as the total loss are being investigated.
The operation was also assisted by policemen and members of the defence forces.
