House worth RM1 mil, not RM7.8 mil as alleged: Sanusi’s brother

SIK – The bungalow owned by Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s brother in Kg Batu Lapan here is valued at RM1 million and not RM7.8 million as alleged by some.

According to the owner, Shabudin Md Nor, 57, the house was built in February last year at a cost of over RM800,000.

“Currently, we live in a house which belongs to my wife’s family. We moved in after my father-in-law passed away several years ago,” he said.

He said he was a certified commercial diver for the last 27 years and built the house from his own hard work.

“I began deep-sea diving after ending my services with the Royal Malaysian Navy,” he said, adding that he mostly worked abroad.

He said he was not perturbed about the rumours surrounding his house, though it was a little disturbing to his family.

“Nothing is permanent in this world, we are all here temporarily,” he said.

Sanusi had earlier shot down claims that he owned the house, saying it was the work of slanderers.

“The house is not mine. Not a single sen of my money was used to build the house,” the Kedah menteri besar had stressed.

The house is 371 sq m and has six rooms and four designated parking spaces. – The Vibes, July 14, 2023
