  • The 11-pound male fox was discovered in New York and subsequently transferred to the Bronx Zoo for examination.
  • Zoo officials confirmed the fox, estimated to be two years old, appears healthy and is settling in well despite its arduous trip.
  • The fox boarded an automobile-laden ship in Southampton on 4 February, arriving at the Port of New York and New Jersey on 18 February.
  • Currently housed in the zoo's veterinary centre, a long-term home will be sought for the omnivorous fox once it clears further health screenings.
