  • Stephen McCullagh has been handed a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 31 years for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Natalie McNally.
  • McCullagh murdered Ms McNally in Lurgan, Co Armagh, on 18 December 2022, and showed no reaction as his sentence was delivered.
  • He created a false alibi by staging a YouTube gaming livestream of Grand Theft Auto, which police experts later discovered was pre-recorded days before the murder.
  • Mr Justice Kinney described the murder as a 'brutal and senseless' act, planned in 'remorseless detail', with the staged livestream being an 'integral' part of the scheme.
  • McCullagh also made a 'concerted effort' to blame Ms McNally's ex-boyfriend and feigned grief with her family in the aftermath of her death.
