In the era where technologies are consistently evolving, my favourite part of it all will be how easy everything can be! You can do so much on a little screen to kill time or just to entertain yourself. It’s like a genie in a bottle! Ha-ha. Nowadays, entertainment can come in all sorts of ways.
First and foremost, it can provide you with new information that you might not know of in the middle of scrolling through TikTok! For example, you can learn about different cultures all around the world as if you were there in person. At the same time, you can build connections with many people from all around the world by just engaging on their socials.
Most people that have social media definitely have mutuals from parts of the world. It's amazing how people can exchange ideas and thoughts and even becoming best friends can happen by just using a small gadget.
Personally, I think it is a win-win situation for everybody.
Entertainment can also be a way of learning in the classroom which grabs lots of attention from students. Which is also called “Edutainment”. This can enhance student’s communication skills as they would not just sit and listen. It can also encourage teamwork among students. There are several ways that we can use entertainment as a way to learn such as learning through snippets of movies, numerous numbers of educational games and many more!
Some of websites or apps I have personally engaged is Kahoot and Quizizz. As a psychology student, I learn a lot about mental illnesses from watching documentaries on Netflix and Youtube. I have also played quizzes on TikTok! For me, learning with entertainment works much better than learning traditionally.
What is important is, that it is fun and it works!
