Rob Reiner recalled how his wife inspired him to change the ending to his beloved film, When Harry Met Sally, in one of his final interviews before his death aged 78.

The Hollywood director and his wife Michele Singer were found stabbed to death at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, 14 December.

Police are investigating the deaths as homicides, and a family member is being questioned.

Reiner directed other iconic movies such as Stand By Me, This is Spinal Tap, and The Princess Bride.

Speaking to Drew Barrymore in September 2025, Reiner said he had been single for 10 years and met Singer during the making of the romantic comedy — which prompted him to switch up the original conclusion to the movie.
