MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos who want to learn artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and other digital skills may now enroll for free through the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Online Program after Tesda partnered with Unesco-UNEVOC and the HP Foundation to expand access to future-ready training programs.
The agency announced on Friday that the initiative integrated selected courses from the HP LIFE Program into Tesda’s online learning platform, allowing Filipinos to study digital and business-related subjects remotely and at their own pace.
What courses are being offered?
Tesda said learners could access free online courses on artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, marketing, communication, finance, and business operations.
The courses also include lessons on AI concepts, responsible AI use, and practical AI applications in workplaces and businesses.
According to Tesda, the HP LIFE Program currently offers more than 30 online courses.
Who can enroll?
The Tesda Online Program is open to Filipinos who want to improve their digital and employability skills.
Based on Tesda Online Program materials, most courses do not require a college degree, prior work experience, or specific educational attainment.
Tesda’s online platform is also designed for students, overseas Filipino workers, returning OFWs, fresh graduates, jobseekers, career shifters, and working professionals seeking flexible learning opportunities.
What are the requirements?
Learners need a valid email address, internet connection, and a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to access the platform.
Tesda Online Program materials also recommend a stable internet connection and a modern web browser for smoother access to online modules and video lessons.
How can Filipinos access the courses?
Interested learners may visit e-tesda (dot) gov (dot) ph and create a free TESDA Online Program account.
According to Tesda Online Program materials, users must complete registration details and verify their account through an activation link sent via email before enrolling in courses.
After registration, users may browse available courses and enroll directly through the platform.
Tesda said the courses were self-paced, allowing learners to study anytime and anywhere depending on their schedule and internet availability.
Some courses may also require learners to complete quizzes, assessments, and final tests before finishing the program.
Are the courses really free?
Tesda said the online courses were free of charge under the partnership with the HP Foundation and Unesco-UNEVOC.
Tesda Online Program materials also state that the platform does not require tuition fees or entrance examinations for most courses.
Will learners receive certificates?
Tesda Online Program learners may receive a digital Certificate of Completion after finishing required modules and assessments.
However, Tesda clarifies that the online certificate is different from a Tesda National Certificate or Certificate of Competency, which still requires a face-to-face competency assessment at a TESDA-accredited assessment center.
Tesda also said completed courses and competencies would appear in the Tesda Skills Passport mobile application through its Skills Pathways feature.
Why is Tesda expanding AI and digital training?
Tesda Secretary Kiko Benitez said the initiative sought to help Filipinos remain competitive as industries continue shifting toward technology-driven operations.
“As industries continue to transform through technology and innovation, it is important that Filipinos are equipped with the skills needed to remain competitive and adaptable in the future of work. Using e-Tesda, we can further expand access to quality training,” Benitez said.
Tesda said the collaboration was being facilitated through the Unesco Global Skills Academy, which aims to support lifelong learning and employability skills worldwide.
