- National Savings and Investments has released the results of its monthly Premium Bonds prize draw, with 22 million UK savers participating in the government-backed scheme that currently holds over £137 billion in total deposits.
- Savers can deposit between £25 and £50,000, with each £1 investment holding a 22,000-to-one chance of winning tax-free cash prizes ranging from £25 up to two top jackpot prizes of £1 million generated by the random number indicator ERNIE.
- The prize draw was scheduled for Thursday 1 October, while the full set of winning results were published and made accessible on the official NS&I website today.
- Financial expert Martin Lewis notes that while the theoretical prize fund rate sits at 3.8 per cent, most bondholders will receive far lower returns or nothing at all, meaning traditional savings accounts may provide a more consistent yield.
- Bondholders can check whether they have won any prizes in the draw by entering their unique bond details into the online NS&I checker or by using the official NS&I mobile application.
