How weight loss drugs have been linked to surprising hair and nail problems

  • A multinational study presented at the EADV Congress has linked GLP-1 weight loss medications, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, to unexpected side-effects affecting nails, hair, and scalps.
  • Users of the drugs were found to be more than four times as likely to suffer from nail detachment compared to non-users, alongside experiencing noticeable nail discolouration.
