HSBC Malaysia is updating its branch network to focus on core locations in Malaysia’s prime economic corridors, where demand for international banking and wealth management services is strongest.

As a result of this, some customers will be designated new home branches and will be formally notified by HSBC. These changes will be taking effect from 2 November 2026.

The bank says the move follows continued growth in its International Wealth and Premier Banking business and allows it to deliver a more consistent branch experience aligned with its standards, complementing its digital channels.

The full list of branches that are part of the update and their corresponding new home branches is available on HSBC’s website.

What Stays The Same

If your account is part of the update, your banking arrangements carry on as they are. HSBC has confirmed that:

  • Your accounts, holdings, cards, and banking facilities remain completely unchanged
  • ATM and debit cards, credit cards, and online banking (including the Islamic ATM-i, Debit Card-i, and Credit Card-i variants) continue to work as they do today
  • Premier customers keep their existing Premier Relationship Manager as their dedicated point of contact

You can continue to bank at any HSBC Malaysia branch, withdraw cash at HSBC ATMs and the MEPS shared ATM network, and use HSBC Malaysia Online Banking and the mobile banking app, which remain available around the clock.

How To Check If You Have A New Home Branch

You will receive formal communication from HSBC if your account is part of the update, so no action is needed on your part. Alternatively, the list of branches and their new home branch assignments is available here, or you can call the HSBC Malaysia customer service hotline at 1300 88 1388 (local) or +603 8321 5400 (international).

What You Should Do

Nothing is required to keep your banking services running. Your account numbers, cards, standing instructions, and online banking access all continue as normal. If you visit a branch regularly for over-the-counter services, take note of your new home branch ahead of 2 November 2026 so you know where to go once the change takes effect.
