Launched in September last year, the Huawei Mate XT looks very much like a Mate X6 on surface but it can be unfolded into a 10.2-inch slate, it has an impressive 3.6mm thickness when fully unfolded and weighs merely 298g, which essentially makes it the slimmest and lightest 10-inch tablet if you want to consider it to be one.

The device offers a 6.4-inch LTPO OLED cover display when fully folded and unfolding the first time gives it a 7.9-inch screen, but due to such sophisticated screen technology, you are only getting a 90Hz refresh rate on the internal screens, but you still thankfully get high PWM dimming frequency and a 240Hz sampling rate.

The Huawei Mate XT features the a capable triple camera system Huawei’s XMAGE imaging system, incluidng a 50MP wide with OIS, a 12MP periscope that does 5.5x optical zoom, and 12MP ultrawide, while there’s only a single 8MP front facing camera.

What’s most impressive is that despite the slim form factor, Huawei has managed to fit in a large 5600mAh Silicon Carbon battery that supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge and 50W Wireless Huawei SuperCharge, it is the largest battery size ever to be fitted on a foldable phone.

While the Huawei Mate XT comes with 5G connectivity in China, we expect the Huawei Mate XT to only come with 4G connectivity due to US sanctions, it will also be powered by the same Kirin 9010 chip found on the Mate X6 and an optimized version of EMUI 15 for its tri-fold form.

More products are expected to launch on Huawei’s Innovovative Product launch event on February 18 so definitely stay tuned for that.
