Previously, DR claimed that he was passing through the area when he was robbed by an unknown person. To strengthen his claim, DR uploaded the chronology of the incident on his social media account.

However, the investigation found that DR was lying and had fabricated the story. It was all because he was afraid of being scolded by his wife for spending Rp10 million (RM2,977) of her money.

"The investigators have examined the location of the incident. But no evidence was found, and the robbery incident was just a fabrication," he said.

For the record, DR now faces legal action for making a false report. If found guilty, he could face a maximum prison sentence of 365 days.
