The Hyundai Stargazer compact MPV has arrived in Malaysia from under RM100K with 6 and 7 seater variants available.
Hyundai Motor Malaysia has officially introduced the all-new Hyundai Stargazer, marking the South Korean automaker’s competitive entry into the popular compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment. Positioned as “The WEhicle,” the Stargazer is engineered specifically around the functional realities and dynamic routines of modern families, balancing everyday school runs and multi-generational family getaways.
Arriving in three distinct grades (Style, Prime, and X) the new MPV introduces accessible family transport starting from a competitive five-figure threshold. Pricing begins at RM99,800 for the Style, moving to RM109,800 for the Prime, and topping out at RM121,800 for the range-topping Stargazer X.
Distinct Cabin Configurations: Seven-Seat Utility vs. Six-Seat Captain Chairs
The Stargazer lineup offers two seating configurations tailored to differing lifestyle priorities. The entry-level Style and mid-tier Prime feature a classic three-row, seven-seat 2+3+2 layout with 60:40 split-folding second-row seats. In contrast, the flagship Stargazer X swaps the second-row bench for individual captain chairs in a 2+2+2 configuration, creating a luxurious lounge-like atmosphere with direct walk-through access to the third row.
Everyday utility is engineered directly into the interior architecture through thoughtful storage innovations. The cabin incorporates roof-mounted rear air-conditioning vents, hidden cargo floor bins with flush-fitting lids, foldable seat-back trays, and multiple USB charging points across all rows. The Stargazer X further elevates practicality by incorporating a floating center console with a detachable storage tray, Shift-By-Wire transmission controls, and full leatherette upholstery.
Futuristic Exterior Stance and Rugged Stargazer X Styling
Departing from conventional boxy people-mover silhouettes, the Stargazer showcases a futuristic front fascia headlined by an unbroken horizontal LED daytime running light bar paired with vertical LED headlamps and distinctive H-signature rear lighting.
The flagship Stargazer X differentiates itself with prominent crossover-inspired styling cues, incorporating aggressive front and rear bumper cladding, silver skid plate garnishes, protective wheel arch extensions, bridge-type roof rails, a sporty roof spoiler, black Hyundai emblems, and 17-inch gloss-black alloy wheels. The base Style variant rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, while the Prime is equipped with 17-inch diamond-cut alloys.
Proven Smartstream Powertrain and Hyundai SmartSense ADAS
Under the hood, all Malaysian-specification Stargazer models are powered by Hyundai’s 1.5-litre Smartstream G MPI naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), a chain-driven CVT system programmed with virtual stepped gears to maximize fuel efficiency and response in stop-and-go urban commuting.
Active and passive safety receives substantial upgrades on the Prime and X variants through the Hyundai SmartSense ADAS 2.0 suite. The comprehensive driver-assistance bundle provides Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Safe Exit Warning. The upper variants are further safeguarded by six SRS airbags, an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, and a digital tire pressure monitoring system.
Early Bird Privileges and Resale Value Protection Scheme
To celebrate the national launch, Hyundai Motor Malaysia is offering an Early Bird Value Package worth RM4,600 during the introductory campaign. Securable with an RM88 booking fee, the launch bundle grants buyers eight complimentary service sessions spanning four years of free scheduled maintenance, accompanied by an exclusive RM1,000 All-Star Reward rebate for existing Hyundai owners.
Every new Stargazer is backed by an eight-year or 160,000 km myHyundaiCare manufacturer warranty. Addressing depreciation concerns, Hyundai has also introduced an unprecedented Resale Value Protection (RVP) Program, guaranteeing predetermined trade-in buyback values when upgrading to a subsequent new Hyundai model: 70% in the third year (up to 60,000 km), 60% in the fourth year (up to 80,000 km), and 50% in the fifth year (up to 100,000 km). Authorized Hyundai dealerships nationwide will host customer test-drive weekends from September 26 to 27.
