A sharing by a Malaysian girl on TikTok caught the attention of netizens recently after she posted a photo of her marriage registration form alongside passport-sized photos of herself and her soon-to-be-husband.

This is because, as the marriage registration form revealed, the girl is only 15 years old!

A screenshot of the TikTok post has since been reposted by many public social media accounts, including this X (formerly Twitter) post by @maafcakaplah.

Besides her age, the marriage registration form also revealed several other things about the bride-to-be.

These include her highest education being primary school and that she was from Rantau Panjang in Selama, Perak.

Another interesting tidbit from the marriage registration form is that the girl doesn’t have an e-mail address.

Besides that, another screenshot of the TikTok post shared in the replies to the X post showed the bride-to-be commenting,

“I’m not even schooling, so I’m getting married, it’s easier.”

Malaysians share their 2 cents on the matter

In the replies, Malaysians share their thoughts about the 15-year-old getting married at such a young age, with many expressing shock and concerns.

One commenter pointed out how the girl’s highest level of education is primary school, which is concerning. @maafcakaplah concurred with the sentiment, saying that the girl was treating marriage as something to play around with.

Meanwhile, another commenter stressed that child marriages should be stopped and criticised the girl’s parents for allowing such a thing to happen.

Besides that, one commenter argued that such a thing happened due to schools abolishing major examinations such as PT3, as rather than dreaming about scoring in exams, students these days are dreaming about getting married.
