By now, many people have heard of a woman named Sangeeta, otherwise known as akka nasi lemak who went viral for selling nasi lemak. Following her success, her business was met with huge crowds every day with multiple refills throughout the day. Unfortunately, Sangeeta has revealed that she hasn’t been happy despite her newfound fame.
Akka Nasi Lemak reveals that she has been constantly criticised since she has gone viral
According to local newspaper Sinar Harian, Sangeeta’s business has rose to fame after being circulated on social media, inviting thousands of people to queue for her food, with some coming from different states to try her cooking. The woman who has been operating her stall for 13 years has mentioned that her newfound fame has led her into being constantly being criticised and even ridiculed.

In a recent talk show broadcasted by Astro Ulagam, Sangeeta shared that she has been receiving insults and ridicules from people who are jealous of her fame and success.
“I understand that there’s competition in business, but it’s becoming toxic as people are starting to insult me”, she said.
Subsequently, a video was circulated online, showcasing Sangeeta sharing her struggles, despite having thousands of customers show up at her stall every day. In the video, she mentioned that her living conditions are more or less the same as, despite selling out every day.

She said that she still sleeps in the same room with 4 of her children with minimal furniture, saying that they’re still struggling even though their business has rose to fame. She also revealed that due to pressure she is under to maintain her business, it has caused her to lose weight.
“I’ve lost weight because I’m extremely tired everyday”, she mentioned.

Following that, she had no choice but to take a break from her business as she was suffering from an undisclosed health condition. She then ended the video, hoping that people would stop harassing her and her family.
