LAHAD DATU, Aug 13 — Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohammad Yusof Apdal today denied claims that he had resigned and withdrawn from the federal government.

In a statement to Bernama today, he said the claim circulating on social media was untrue and malicious.

“I remain a member of the Unity Government administration and continue to carry out the trust and responsibilities entrusted to me,” he said.

He said the dissemination of such false information not only misled the public, but was also intended to tarnish his reputation.

Mohammad Yusof, who is also the Lahad Datu Member of Parliament from Parti Warisan, urged the public not to spread unverified news and to always refer to official sources for accurate and authentic information.

Today, a social media post circulated claiming that Mohammad Yusof had decided to resign as Deputy Minister, effective today. — Bernama
