- Isom-McDaniel recounted from his hospital bed that the bison, initially appearing non-aggressive, suddenly charged and targeted him.
- Footage captured by photographer Mike MacLeod showed the bison hooking Isom-McDaniel with its horn and tossing him, with the animal also charging at a group of children before moving on.
- Yellowstone National Park officials confirmed that no "management action" would be taken against the bison following the attack.
