A Malaysian man recently sparked netizens’ interest with his views on polygamy during a street interview at a shopping mall, captured by TikTok user @eziejoelyrk.
The interview was prompted by the viral topic of influencer “Abang Tesla” having more than one wife.
When asked about his stance on polygamy, the man humorously replied, “I prefer cars over wives,” in the presence of his wife, amusing her and the host.
The man, a 16-year retired commando, disclosed having one wife, previously owning a Maserati, and currently driving a BMW.
He humorously concluded that managing both relationships can be complex, suggesting it’s wise to diversify interests to avoid complications.
His wife, seen smiling beside him, quickly walked away shyly after his response.
The video rapidly went viral, garnering 306K likes, 7.5K comments, and 22.5K shares. Many netizens lauded the man’s humour and positive outlook.
A user, claiming to be his daughter, commented, “(This is) my dad, we are four sisters. He probably answered that because he’s tired of dealing with each of our antics. By the way, he is 54 years old.”
Some netizens humorously suggested that his wife might be the real commander at home.
Meanwhile, others speculated he gave such answers just to play it safe.
