As we all know, MUDA has been quite active with its candidates during this round of state elections. However, they suffered a total loss in all of the areas they contested and all of them lost their deposits.
Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman told reporters that he takes full responsibility for the loss they suffered, reports BERNAMA.
However, he believes that the party’s defeat in 19 seats will serve as what he calls a “maturing experience” and that this state election is the first step of a MUDA’s long journey forward.
“I think the candidates have tried their best but as a president, I need to do better. This is a very humbling experience for us at MUDA.”
When asked if he will be forming a coalition with other parties, Syed Saddiq says that it’s time for reflection but the party will remain true to their words by being “the voice of conscience and to provide check and balance.”
In a Twitter post, he thanks the people who gave MUDA a chance and promises they will work harder in the future.
“We accept this loss with an open heart and I take full responsibility for this.”
“There are many things to learn and many things to improve.”
Well, acknowledging defeat is the first step to getting better and we wish Syed Saddiq and MUDA all the best.
