Former 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) general counsel Jasmine Loo told the High Court that she would wait outside Datuk Seri Najib Razak's house on Jalan Langgak Duta while fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, walked inside to have Najib sign 1MDB-related paperwork.
Loo, the prosecution's 50th witness, revealed this on Wednesday (Feb 14) while being questioned by Deputy Public Prosecutor Deepa Nair Thevaharan in Najib's RM2.28 billion 1MDB trial.
"There were times when Jho Low came out of Najib's residence and took documents from me. I didn't enter Najib's residence; I just waited at the gate," she went on to say.
In her 63-page witness testimony, Loo stated that in 2012 and 2013, she printed and placed documents—a special rights redeemable preference shareholder resolution (SRRP) and minutes by a representative of the holding company (MR)—in a folder.
"I delivered them to Jho Low by hand anyplace he ordered, including Najib's door at his Langgak Duta mansion in Kuala Lumpur. If not, I would provide the plastic folder to any individual directed by Jho Low, who would then hand it over to Jho Low for signature. Only after the signature was secured would Jho Low hand over the SSRP and MR to me personally or to any individual designated by me.
"If it was not handed over to me, Jho Low would send me a message via his BBM (Blackberry Messenger) to ensure that the documents were handed over to the 1MDB office for further action," Loo said, according to The Star.
On Tuesday, Loo told the court that during her time at 1MDB, she only met with Najib at 1MDB-related meetings or events alongside 1MDB's management and that she had never met with Najib alone or directly for any company-related topics.
