Former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad stated that he will not be silent and will speak out for the rest of his life.
Even though many urged him to rest and be quiet after losing the election, Mahathir insisted on telling the truth.
"I don’t know why I’m not allowed to speak up regarding 3R. I was once thought to be senile. Now I’m being warned to keep silent since I have lost my deposit.
Even if no one listens to it, if it is the truth, the matter must be brought to light. Even if only one person listens, the truth must be told," the former prime minister insisted.
He explained that his struggle is not about obtaining the position of Prime Minister or ringgit money.
"However, we can still claim that we want to fight for the national religion. I'm not doing it for the money; I don't want to be prime minister anymore. If I want to be Prime Minister, I will not resign," he remarked on Friday at the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Grand Finale Lecture stage in Simpang Pelangai, close here.
According to Kosmo, Tun Dr. Mahathir clarified that truth is not the exclusive domain of the majority or the minority, nor of those who do not lose their deposits.
"For me, as long as I’m still alive, I will continue to speak out on what is not right even if it is bitter to hear," said Tun Dr. Mahathir.
According to Sinar Harian, he also brings up the government's failure to deal with the fall in the value of the ringgit.
“Anwar used to promise that he would lower the price of all goods, however now the price of rice is even more expensive than before. This is what happened when Anwar became the prime minister,” said Tun Dr. Mahathir.
