The disciplinary case of Mohd Fadli Salleh, a Math teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gombak 1, for openly complaint on his media social accounts over heavy bag issues, absurd school syllabus, overcrowding students in a class, the amounts and time of subjects to be learned, and ‘Little Napoleon’ existence that ruined Malaysia’s education system had gripped the nation over the weekend.

The Sun Daily reported, under rules and regulations as stipulated in the Civil Servants (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993, civil servants are not allowed to openly issue public statements against any ministry or government agency.

However, this case had gone viral on social media, where netizens express their support for Fadhli, garnering the attention of politicians from many parties as well as influencers.

MalaysiaKini reported, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, caretaker prime minister, had contacted Pkharuddin Ghazali, director general of education, asking for further info on the issue.

“ I’ve contacted the education director general regarding the viral issues in social media, on the allegedly disciplinary action enforced on the teacher such as termination or demotion.”, says Ismail.

Free Malaysia Today (FMT) also reported Ismail Sabri professed that he wish for a win-win solution in Cikgu Fadli's case.

“The ministry cannot let its staff who make comments (on social media) go scot-free. But, at the same time, too harsh a punishment for officers and staff is also inappropriate,” Ismail said.

This issue also calls for action from the latest Minister of Education, Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin, who according to FMT, is currently being scrutinized by the netizen over this case.

Radzi stated on his Facebook page that he would like to have a meet-up with Fadli, to discuss this issue.

However, it takes a wrong turn as Kosmo reported that Fadli had tried to gain the minister's attention by tagging him on social media, numerously, regarding the matters, questioning his intentions.

“I had comments and tagged him so many times on his page, but I haven’t received any response from him until tonight.”, says Fadli.

“Why now, why not respond to me when I was called by the integrity unit last year? Why not during the time I have tagged and comments on his post?”, adds Fadli.

FMT also reported, Fadli wished for this issue to not be politicized by politicians or anyone else.

“Whether it’s PH, PN, or any other party, I won’t allow myself to be dragged on your political stage. I won’t attend it.”, says Fadli.

Despite his reluctance to politicians riding on his case and fame as part of their political campaign, he welcomes those who want to use education issues and realize all the great ideas for the betterment of Malaysia.
